PLZ HELP: error while installing SQL Server Express!!

I am gettierror whle installing the SQL Server Express.

Product: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition -- Error 29513. SQL Server Setup Failed to compile the Managed Object Format (MOF) file c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof. To proceed, see "Troubleshooting an Installation of SQL Server 2005" or "How to: View SQL Server 2005 Setup Log Files" in SQL Server 2005 Setup Help documentation.

Typically this is an issue with WMI. Can you take a look at this thread and see if it applies to your situation?

|||Raghu,
to be honest, for mail setup you're best off posting in the sqlserver.server
group. I'll chip in if there's no more specialized responses, but you're
likely to get more responses there.

Please post setup and installation questions in the Setup forum

Earlier versions of SQL had an icon in the system tray - which was very useful. I cannot seem to find how you activate this in 2005.

Also you could schedule a job MSDE 2000 to, say, backup a database. I can't find how you do this in SQL Express.

The system tray feature is no longer a component of SQL Server, Express contains no scheduler, please use the windows task scheduler to call sqlcmd instead.|||

While SQL 2005 no longer provides a system tray icon for the previous Server Manager applet, here is a link to a .NET application created as a replacement. (Usual craveats implied...)

SQL Server 2005 Service Manager Alternative

Also, SQL 2005 Express does not include the SQL Agent Job Scheduling service. You can verify at this version comparision:

SQL Server 2005 Features, Version Comparison
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/features/compare-features.mspx

However, you could combine the use of Windows Scheduler and SQLCmd.exe to create a replacement and similar functionality with SQL 2005 Express.

There was also a feature in Visual Studio 2003 whereby we could view and manage the database present on the server(s) [I think it was called the SQL Enterprise Manager], and also a tool called the Query Analyzer where we could run queries on the databases. Are these also scrapped in VS 2005? What are the alternatives if that is the case?|||

How do I upgrade a SQL Server 2005 trial version with an expired license? I have a real license. If I install a new version, I don't want to lose the reports I created from the old version.

Thank you.

Please help me to solve.

How to rectify following error

in Ms Access 2003 in windows20000

(It is working in XP)

"Microsoft Office Access can't open the database because it is missing,or opened exclusively by another user ".

|||When I run my setup.exe and get to the window for "components to install" the Reporting Services option is greyed out! Any ideas? The only thing I can think of is that the person who gave me the software (he isn't a DBA, and don't even ask why I have to go through him!!) gave me the wrong files? or downloaded some partial CD? I'm lost!|||It means you do not have one of the pre-req's, almost certainly IIS.
