I have Sql Server Personal Edition SP3 installed on my PC. I get an error
message when trying to install the reporting services trial package. Does
the reporting services not work with a personal edition of Sql Server?
The error message is "The edition of the report server database is not
supported on the edition of Sql Server 2000 you have chosen".
Thanks,Paul, I will be interested to see any responses you receive I have been
experiencing the same problems for the past 2 days. With what appear to be
the exact same setup you are running XP SP2, SQL 2000 SP3a and trial edition
of reporting services.

http://www.microsoft.com/sql/reporting/productinfo/sysreqs.asp says that
only Standard, Enterprise, and Developer Editions are supported. If you're
just doing this for trial purposes, how about installing the Evaluation
Edition of SQL Server while you're testing?

please help! log backups not being copied to destination server
sql2k sp3
*No domain accounts being used due to advice from
yesterday.*
Im trying to get Log Shipping going between 2 sql boxes.
The tlog backups arent being transferred to the
destination server. The primary box is in a domain and the
secondary is in a workgroup. As of this morning for the
purposes of this test, all sql services on both boxes are
running in local admin accounts that have the same name
and password. No domain accounts being used. After some
time the I get a red x because they are out of sync.
Nothing in the error log.
I can go into Query Analyzer logged in as the same account
that the services on both boxes are running in and copy a
file to the share without having to set up a linked server
login for him:
declare @.path varchar(200),
@.cmd varchar(200)
set @.cmd = 'copy C:\FIN\ds01
\SystemOnlyDBFiles\MSSQL\BACKUP\bla.txt '
set @.path = '\\backupsql1\BACKUP\bla.txt'
set @.cmd = @.cmd + @.path
exec master..xp_cmdshell @.cmd
Any ideas from anybody?
ThanksThe sql server agent on the destination server wasn't
running. I didnt realize it needed to be. Thanks to all
who may have been trying to figure it out.
